About this watch
Rolex Yellow Gold Day-Date 36 Watch - Fluted Bezel - Champagne Wave Arabic Dial - President Bracelet - 118238 chwap
Introduced in 2000, the reference 118238 marked a significant evolution in the Day-Date lineage, featuring the upgraded caliber 3155 movement and refined case proportions that would define the collection for nearly two decades. This particular example showcases the sophisticated interplay between 36mm yellow gold construction and the champagne wave dial, creating subtle textural variations that shift under different lighting conditions. The Arabic numerals provide a contemporary counterpoint to the traditional Roman markers typically associated with dress watches, while the fluted bezel adds architectural depth to the overall composition. Delivered in unworn condition, this 118238 represents the pinnacle of Rolex's dress watch craftsmanship during the early 2000s era.
