About this watch
Rolex Yellow Gold Day-Date 36 Watch - Fluted Bezel - Champagne Jubilee Diamond Dial - Oyster Bracelet - 118238 chjdo
Powered by Rolex's perpetual, self-winding caliber 3155 movement, the reference 118238 delivers both the day and date complications that define the Presidential collection's mechanical sophistication. This 36mm yellow gold case houses a champagne jubilee diamond dial, where ten brilliant-cut diamonds replace traditional hour markers at positions 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, and 11. The fluted bezel catches light with its distinctive ridged pattern, a signature element that requires specialized tooling to achieve the precise 60 flutes that have become synonymous with Rolex's most formal timepieces. Presented in unworn condition, this 118238 represents the classic proportions and refined elegance that established the Day-Date as the watch of presidents and industry leaders.
Key Features & Specifications
- Caliber 3155 Movement — COSC-certified chronometer with instantaneous day and date change at midnight, featuring a 48-hour power reserve and quickset functions for both complications
- Champagne Jubilee Diamond Dial — Ten factory-set diamonds at hour positions create a refined aesthetic against the warm champagne base, complemented by gold Mercedes-style hands and applied gold indices at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock
- 36mm Yellow Gold Case — Crafted from solid 18k yellow gold with Rolex's signature Oyster case construction, providing water resistance to 100 meters despite its dress watch orientation
- Fluted Bezel — The iconic 60-flute pattern machined directly into the 18k yellow gold bezel, creating the distinctive light-catching ridges that serve as both decorative element and grip for the screw-down construction
- Oyster Bracelet — Three-piece solid yellow gold links with Oysterclasp and Easylink 5mm comfort extension system, designed for daily wear despite the watch's formal positioning
- Day Display — Full weekday spelling at 12 o'clock position available in 26 languages, with the classic white background providing contrast against the champagne dial
- Unworn Condition — Complete with factory protective stickers and tags, representing a pristine example of this discontinued reference from Rolex's Presidential collection
