About this watch
Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse Rose Gold Black Dial - 5738R-001
The Golden Ellipse collection reached a contemporary milestone with the introduction of the 40mm case format, transforming Vincent de Montparnasse's original golden ratio proportions for modern sensibilities. This 5738R-001 exemplifies the evolution from the collection's 1968 debut, presenting the iconic elliptical silhouette in rose gold paired with a deep black dial that emphasizes the mathematical perfection of the case geometry. Dating from the 2010-2020 production era, this reference represents Patek Philippe's commitment to maintaining the Golden Ellipse's distinctive identity while accommodating contemporary sizing preferences. The rose gold construction elevates the design beyond mere timekeeping into the realm of wearable geometry.
